  • Charalabos C. Doumanidis
    Dr. Doumanidis holds his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), his MS from Northwestern University, and his diploma from the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, all in Mechanical Engineering. He has served in Sr. leadership roles at several universities around the world, including most recently being the Vice Provost for Research at Nazarbayev University. Furthermore, he served as the founding Director of the Nanomanufacturing Program at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the USA, and as National Contact Point of the European Commission for the Research Promotion Foundation. Dr. Doumanidis is the author of over 300 refereed papers, is distinguished by four best paper awards; nine patents and five book chapters; and has been PI/co-PI of over 60 research grants totaling over US$ 18 million. He is a recipient of the Marie Curie Chair of Excellence and Excellence Team by the European Commission, the ASME Blackall Award, the Presidential Faculty Fellow Award by the White House (former President W.J. Clinton), the NSF Young Investigator and Research Initiation Awards, the Honda Initiation Grant, etc.
  • Do Danh Cuong
    Dr. Cuong Do obtained a BS in electronics from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in 2004. He received MEng in Electronics and Semiconductor from Chungbuk National University, Korea, in 2007 and his PhD in Electronics Engineering from Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland, in 2012. His PhD dissertation focuses on the development of adaptive control methods for improving the performance and reliability of MEMS switches. The work is in collaboration with Analog Devices Inc. From 2013 to 2017, Dr. Cuong was a research associate in the Engineering Department, University of Cambridge. In Cambridge, he combined both pieces of knowledge in MEMS and CMOS fields to develop an ultra-low power, high sensitive strain sensor in Cambridge. Based on this work, two industrial fundings from IHI Corp., Japan, and 8Power Ltd., UK were secured. He also led a group of graduate students in their work on projects such as energy harvester systems, MEMS nonlinearity, and wireless sensor networks.
  • Do Tho Truong
    Upon graduation from the University of Science and Technology, Dr. Truong worked as a lecturer at the University of Transport and Communications. He completed his master’s degree in France and Spain and received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University, United States. Truong also worked for a NASA funded project “Empirical Optimization of Additive Manufacturing” at the Additive Manufacturing Center, University of Louisville. In this project, machine learning used for defect detection was based on in-situ monitoring signals from multiple types of sensors mounted on the Selective Laser Melting (SLM) system. He also worked on other projects funded by the US Air Force Research Lab, and the National Institutes of Health.

    Dr. Kok-Seng Wong received his first degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, and an M.Sc. (Information Technology) degree from the Malaysia University of Science and Technology (in collaboration with MIT). He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Soongsil University, South Korea. He had more than 15 years of teaching record (Computer Science subjects) at universities in Malaysia, South Korea, and Kazakhstan. His research interests lie in applied cryptography, secret sharing, information security, and data privacy.

    Dung D. Le is currently an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at College of Engineering and Computer Science, VinUniversity, Vietnam. He is a former senior data scientist in Ads and Personalization team, Grab Holdings Inc. and a former research scientist in School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU). He earned his PhD in Data Science and Engineering from SMU, working with Associate Professor Hady W. Lauw. In his candidature, he has been recognized with SMU Presidential Doctoral Fellowship Award (AY2018 and AY2019) and SMU PhD Student Life Award (AY2018 and AY2019). Formerly, he earned his Degree of Engineer in Mathematics and Informatics from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in 2014.
  • Le Van Quynh
    Dr. Quynh Le received a PhD in nanophotonics from the University of Paris-Sud XI, France in 2016 where he developed metamaterials-quantum dots hybrid light-emitting diodes. He sequentially conducted postdoctoral training at the Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research, the Netherlands (2017), the University of California, San Diego (2018), and the University of California, Berkeley (2019). The research topics during his postdocs are exciton-polariton condensation, electrically-driven bound-states-in-the-continuum laser, and topological photonics, respectively. He is currently an assistant professor at VinUniversity since 2020.
  • Minh Do
    Minh Do is currently on leave from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) serving as the Vice Provost of VinUniversity. Since 2002, he has been on the faculty at UIUC, where he is currently the Thomas and Margaret Huang Endowed Professor in Signal Processing & Data Science in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and holds affiliate appointments with the Coordinated Science Laboratory, the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, the Department of Bioengineering, and the Department of Computer Science.
