  • Andrew W. Taylor-Robinson
    Dr Andrew Taylor-Robinson is an infectious disease immunologist specializing in mosquito-borne pathogens. His postdoctoral training was undertaken at the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow, which included periods at the Medical Research Laboratories in The Gambia and the Max Planck-Institut für Immunbiologie in Freiburg, Germany. He was then awarded a Wellcome Trust fellowship to become a research group leader at the University of Leeds, and was subsequently appointed to the tenured academic staff. Prior to joining Vin University, most recently he held professorial appointments at Central Queensland University and Charles Darwin University in Australia. He is an International Scholar of the Center for Global Health at the University of Pennsylvania.
  • Duong Thi Bich Thuan
    Dr. Duong Thi Bich Thuan graduated with Honors from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2009 as a Medical Doctor. Concurrent with beginning her career as a Lecturer at her Alma Mater, she completed a Masters program (2011) specializing in Functional Medicine. In 2016, she obtained her PhD in Biochemistry, Physiology, and Molecular Biology at the PhD School in Biomolecular and Biotechnological Sciences, University of Sassari, Italy. Dr. Thuan’s teaching and research specialization is clinical biochemistry and molecular biology. Prior to joining the faculty of VinUni, Dr. Thuan established her academic profile through 12 years of award-winning teaching experience. In recognition for her achievements, she was promoted to Vice Head of the Department of Biochemistry (’15) and the Department of Laboratory (’21), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and its laison hospital, respectively. Although teaching has always been her priority, achievement in Scientific Research has been a critical component to her continued growth in Academia. Dr. Thuan has had multiple scientific research papers published in esteemed international journals and is eagerly anticipating valuable collaborations with her new colleagues.
  • Huynh Dinh Chien
    Dr. Huynh Dinh Chien is a dedicated medical teacher who emphasizes medical care activities for poor communities, especially ethnic minorities in Central Vietnam. After being granted his PhD degree in Immunology in Hungary in 1989, he engaged in research on immunology and poverty reduction, particularly in ethnic minority areas. Building clinical trial areas for new antimalarial drugs is the focus of his ongoing research. Dr. Chien has compiled and published 14 books (3 in English), published more than 40 scientific articles in international journals, participated as a presenter in 13 international conferences, and many domestic workshops and seminars. He was awarded the title Associate Professor in 2002 and Full Professor in 2009. Dr. Chien has been invited to act as a consultant for many international projects at non-governmental organizations as well as at the Ministry of Health. He joined Vinmec Health System in 2017 and was introduced to work at VinUni since 2019.

    Dr. Laura Vanderbloemen is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at VinUniversity in Vietnam. She is co-PI for the VinCohort Study, in partnership with Vinmec Healthcare. She leads the Epidemiology and Research Methods courses for the CHS. Before joining the Faculty she led Imperial College London’s Research Design team via a collaborative project led by King’s College London, in partnership with Imperial, UCL, and Queen Mary University of London, providing study design guidance to National Health Service (NHS) staff, scientists, and health technology companies focused on improving patient and public health through applied health research.
  • Le Cu Linh
    Dr. Linh has held different positions at Vingroup from 2014 to 2019: Director of Human Resources at Vinmec Healthcare System, Director of Health Sciences Education and led the team to establish VinUniversity College of Health Sciences (CHS) in late 2019. He is currently member of Vinmec Scientific Executive Committee and Vice Chair of Vinmec-VinUni Ethical Review Committee. Before joining Vingroup, Dr. Linh worked almost 17 years at Hanoi University of Public Health (HUPH) – the first and only university in the area of Public Health in Vietnam. At HUPH, he contributed significantly to the strategic development and dedicatedly served at different positions: Chair of Dept. of Demography, Vice Director of Faculty of Health Management, Head of Graduate Education Office, Chair of the Institutional Review Board of Bio-medical ethics, etc. As a scholar, he taught demography, population and development, research methodology, research ethics, biostatistics and data analysis, etc. Dr Linh played the key role in the introduction and development of undergraduate, master and doctoral public health programs and master in hospital management in Vietnam. Dr. Linh provided technical support as short-term consultant to numerous projects and organizations including EU, WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, etc. in Vietnam, China, Laos, The Philippines, etc. He also served as panelists to review candidates for Vietnam Education Foundation in 2004-2005. From 2013 to 2014, he served as international key expert for Institutional and Technical Support Project – a European Union funded program to Government of India at National Institute of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi that helps to build up the capacity of doctors and health professionals in India.

  • Maurizio Trevisan
    Dr Maurizio Trevisan is the Former Dean of Health Sciences at VinUniversity. He is a cardiovascular disease epidemiologist interested in ways to prevent CVD through changes in lifestyle habits. He has been engaged in a number of international epidemiological collaborative studies. In his current position in Vietnam, he is focused on Chronic Disease prevention in a country in transition with a significant shift in the leading causes of mortality and morbidity. As a researcher, he has authored more than 250 publications, which have appeared in such high-impact journals as the “Journal of the American Medical Association,” “Annals of Internal Medicine” and “The New England Journal of Medicine.” He has extensive experience directing and conducting multi-center and international collaborative studies, as well.
